Hello,
My name is Natalie Jaimes. I am the owner and operator of Happee Groomers. Happee Groomers is a local to Washington State, mobile dog and cat grooming service. We offer haircuts to both dogs and cats, nail trims, ear cleanings, and baths. We offer these services at customers homes in a city bus converted into a pet grooming salon.
My small business journey began with my passion for pet care. Having worked in the pet care industry for ten years, I craved the ability to help pets with my accumulated knowledge and vision. Although my vision for what Happee Groomers could be didn’t come until after forming the business, I now know I want Happee Groomers to be a knowledgeable, friendly, helping hand in any community we serve.
Forming a business meant choosing a name. I wanted a cute whimsical name that could almost make you smile. My mind wandered to a memory of my mother reminding me to be happy with a “double e.” I knew starting a business would be a challenge. Coupled with the memory of tough days in the grooming salon and the tough days ahead. The name Happee Groomers seemed to feel more appropriate the closer I got to purchasing the bus that would ultimately end up being the grooming salon on wheels. Today, an Arizona retirement- home commuter bus runs as a fully equipped pet grooming salon. The bus is equipped with a bathing tub, water heater, gray water tank, freshwater tank, grooming table, grooming tools, and more!
A mobile grooming service offers convenience and comfort to owners and pets. Happee Groomers strives to lower the stress of the pet. There are three main ways in which we do this: convenience, empathy, and knowledge. A mobile grooming salon that comes to your home is as convenient for the owner as it is for the pet. Pets no longer face separation anxiety when being left at the salon. There are no longer placed in a kennel but worked with for the duration of the groom. They receive one-on-one attention in a quieter and calmer environment. Happee Groomers empathizes with the owner and pet. Grooming can be nerve racking. So, we allow owners to stay with their pets for the duration of the groom. The van was also designed with the pets in mind. The van has three large boxes. Each box lower to the ground then the previous. This allows large and elderly dogs to use the boxes as steps to the tub. Additionally, owners and the community can observe the grooming process from their homes. The van is equipped with six large windows all around. The windows provide the pet a distraction from the groom, but it also provides comfort as they can see their home. Finally, Happee Groomers strives to improve the pets experience through knowledge.
The ways in which Happee Groomers provides a great service to owners is in a lot of ways a reflection in how we help their pets. Owners are often just as nervous about parting from their companions. They may have elderly or reactive pets. They’re worried about their pets catching kennel cough from boarding with multiple other animals. A mobile salon removes the interaction between pets from different households. I’ve also realized clients struggle with getting their pet to the groomer. Weather it’s a cat hiding under a bed terrified of the carrier or a dog terrified of a car ride. Happee Groomers seeks to provide a stress-free option. I hope Happee Groomers can continue to find ways to make the grooming process more comfortable and convenient.
